Description of role: 

The Instructional Designer is responsible for conducting needs and performance assessments, analyzing the results to identify gaps, and then collaborates with partners to design, develop, implement, and evaluate the recommended solution.

 

Objective: 

The primary objective for this client-facing role is to design and develop assigned curriculums through thorough needs analysis, effective implementation, and careful evaluation for a distributed workforce. Strong partnerships and collaboration with internal and external clients are required to be successful in this role.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • The client-facing position requires effective leadership and business execution for the following key focus areas. Additional responsibilities may be added as the needs of the business change and expand: 

  • Apply solid instructional design processes to lead the development of learning solutions to support the organization’s goals and objectives.

  • Ability and commitment to understanding the business vision and stakeholder requirements in order to produce clear, engaging, and effective learning solutions. 

  • Meet with clients, subject matter experts, and functional leaders to determine training requirements, audience, and align on expected post-training outcomes.

  • Actively participate and/or facilitate in-person or virtual meetings with internal and external clients on projects. 

  • Develop and implement standards, templates, and processes to ensure efficient, effective, and engaging learning solutions.

  • Identify needs and help expand knowledge and skills through interactive instructional strategies and technology (gaming, virtual delivery, eLearning, etc.)

  • Design and develop high-quality, engaging, and performance-driven learning solutions for a virtual audience using a variety of delivery and instructional methods. 

  • Manage all functions of eLearning design, including story-boarding, scripting, assessment, and multimedia needs. 

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs through the monitoring of course performance against evaluation targets. Implement improvements as needed to meet targets. 

  • Facilitate Train-the-Trainer sessions for trainers that will deliver the content.

  • Effectively manage multiple projects and initiatives from scope to evaluation.

  • Act as the liaison between the internal resources and the client to ensure that learning programs meet client needs and quality standards.

  • Maintain accurate status of projects, milestones, and tasks in project trackers, and proactively communicate status, risks, and needs. 

 

Required Skills: 

  • Comprehensive knowledge and proven application of learner-centered, performance-based instructional theories and adult learning principles

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Captivate and Articulate Storyline 360

  • Fluent with English language with strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Written communication preparation: decks, literature, documentation

  • Proficiency with MicroSoft Office and G-Suite of products

  • Exceptional listening and analytical skills

  • Experience designing for a virtual, dispersed audience

  • Experience designing and developing instructor-led materials and eLearning courses for virtual training

  • Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills

  • Strong ability to set priorities and timelines

  • Confident ability to present professionally with internal and external executives

Experience:

  • 7+ years of instructional design experience
  • Experience in instructional design, adult education, or curriculum design, preferred
  • Experience using Talent LMS, preferred
  • Experience in call center curriculum development, preferred
  • Experience in project management, preferred
  • Experience in graphic design, video editing, and animation, preferred

 

Education: 

  • University degree or equivalent higher education 

 

Job Type: Full-Time 

Location:  Remote (US) with ability to travel 20% of the time
