Description of role & objectives: 

This position helps to oversee the payroll administration for both the United States and Canada for Transcom North America. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for monitoring all tasks necessary to accomplish the organization’s payroll processing objectives, including relationships with external auditors and state and federal agencies. The majority of your time is spent planning, coordinating, and managing the functions of the payroll department. This position requires an extremely detail-oriented person with significant knowledge of payroll administration, to include state and federal regulations (Canada payroll experience a plus!). In this role, you will work in our Denver office at: 4700 South Syracuse Street, Denver, CO, 80237. However, in the future, you may have the opportunity to work partially remotely. 



The essential duties and responsibilities for this role are: 

  • Payroll Processing for Active and Inactive employees (Including additions, and deductions)

  • Government Remittances (Payment and Posting) and related report.

  • Attend to employees’ payroll related inquiries/Customer Service/Orientation.

  • Ad Hoc Reports as needed.

Daily activities to include the following:

  • Ensuring the worked hours feed is accurate for payroll processing.  If there are any discrepancies, the payroll admin will work with the department’s Team Lead to ensure all hours worked are accounted for the current pay-period.

  • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages

  • Determines payroll liabilities by approving the calculations of employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and employer's social security , employment and workers' compensation payments, if applicable.

  • Will ensure all benefit premiums are accounted for, those who have benefits are having the proper deductions taken out of each pay

  • Balances payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies

  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops: reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Responsible for assigning and shipping Aline cards to employees

  • Responsible for processing terminations with proper monies owed and vacation accrual

  • Responsible for accurately allocating accrued  vacation balances for eligible employees

  • Implement standard practices.

  • Continuously review  procedures and implement improvements.

  • Maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures

  • Complies with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements: advising management on needed actions

  • Attend internal meetings with other staff of the contact center.

  • Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests both by email and phone.


Education and Work Experience

  • University degree or equivalent education and/or proven competencies in payroll processing.

  • Fluent in the English language with excellent communication skills. 

  • Previous experience processing end to end payroll utilizing ADP

  • Must have reporting experience and have the ability to create and run reports out of ADP
